I realized today that I haven't watched television or consumed alcohol in over two weeks. It is nice to have a break from both. Although I do have to admit, I do miss watching Grey's Anatomy. I figure I can just watch it online when I get home in May. I have learned a few words of Hindi. Namaste of course, which means hello and goodbye. Also Danyavad (I think this is how you spell it). Anyways, it means thank you. Batto, means sit down, and choop, means be quite. I have tried both of these with the little ones. They just laugh at me. It is kind of hilarious. I also found out on Thursday that most of the little ones don't speak Hindi (they speak a local tribal language). Ahhhhh. They know the basics of Hindi, but nothing more. In the afternoons I do one on reading with the older children. I really enjoy this, I think it is more my cup of tea. I don't think I was meant to be a teacher in the more traditional sense.

Right now there is one other volunteer staying in the Guest House which is my roommate. She is a 54 year old woman from the UK. She is really nice and is working at the same project. She works with the older ones and she does a lot of arts and crafts with them. She is really good at the art and crafts. Me, not so much.

Then there is Hannah and Jenny who already left, they were ending their projects as I was beginning mine. Jenny is 22 and from Orange County. Hannah is 18 and is from London. They both are making a year out of it and traveling and working in other parts of the world as well. Both awesome girls. I traveled with Hannah last weekend to Amritsar.

Simon comes to the project in the afternoon to teach the kids to juggle. They really enjoy it. He is 40 something and is from the UK. He is from the same program but is staying elsewhere.

Also, there is a new volunteer who arrived today and is staying at the guesthouse but I haven't met her yet.
