There is a mosquito in my room. I despise this create. I can imagine him whispering in my ear while I sleep, "I want to drink your blood." And he does indeed. He is the major culprit behind my discomfort and excessive use of Benedryl. In a perfect world we would be able to cohabitate. Well, this is not a perfect world and the little pest must die! Morbid I know, I usually mean no harm, but extreme circumstances call for extreme measures.

Babu is the house boy at the guesthouse. He is an interesting fellow. He is 19 years old and he sings to himself. It is nice really, his singing is like having the radio on, except the music is in Hindi. Here in India, they use a lot of butter and oil. I have had to get use to this. Today at lunch Babu served the Chipati with tons of butter. I asked him again (probably the fifth time) if I could have my Chipati plain. He said okay. I think I will have to use the broken record theory with this situation. Chipati is similar to a pita. I actually don't think there is much difference. Chipati is served with every meal (except breakfast). Another major cuisine here is dahl and you make it a million different ways. It is good.

There is an upscale shopping mall litteraly a minute from where I stay. Today the local radio station was set up in front blasting really bad western music. I think they were playing 50 cents candy shop song. India is so colorful. It is amazing. The people are so animated. I don't think I have mentioned how much I really like here. Some days are challenging and I have to be gentle with myself here. I am always amazed, there is so much going on. Women mostly wear sari's or salwars here, exept many girls in their teen years and early twenties wear western clothes. It is interesting to see a new more western world, emersed in an old traditonal one.
