Goa

Yes, we did indeed spend seven nights in Goa. I speak of Goa as it is one place. Its not, Goa is a state in India, and there are many beaches and a few cities here. First, we hit the beaches of the north. Kayo became sick on the bus ride there and spent the first two days in the hotel. Once Kayo was back in commission we rented a motor bike and headed for the open road. Kayo drove like she was destined to be a Hell's Angel and I sang, "freedom" on the back of the bike. Actually, Kayo was a very safe driver and we decided quickly that I was not the "wo"-man for the job. It was great, such a freedom that we have not had while traveling. We hopped on the bike and just rode, asking along the way for directions to our destination. We explored small towns and beaches and drove along small villages, witnessing life taking place. We hit the Anjuna Wednesday market (also called Foreign Hippie Market). It was great, so much stuff to browse through. I rolled up to a vendor, and he says to me, "everything 100 rupees". So I asked him the price of a skirt, and we responds, 100 rupees, I totally thought he was bullshitting me, because 100 rupees is only $2.50. Once a woman said to me, take a look madam its free, I responded "really?, Free? I don't think she liked my response because she was bullshitting me. We then headed to Palolem, beautiful beach of southern Goa. We stayed in a beach hut for less than $12.00 a day and had a view of the ocean. We never wore shoes, chose restaurants based on the music they were playing and made friends with the million dogs roaming the beaches. I love Goa and never wanted to leave. Palolem was a little piece of heaven, usually an expression I use to describe food, but I think I can use it in the instance.
